Police Arrest 15 Suspects in Ozoro Sexual Assault Case

The Delta State Police, represented by spokesperson Bright Edaf, announced the arrest of 15 suspects linked to a series of alleged sexual assaults in Ozoro, following a crackdown prompted by disturbing reports. The Commissioner of Police, Aina Adeshina, has directed a special investigative team to conduct a thorough probe into the incidents.

The investigation has been aided by video evidence and intelligence, leading to the arrest of 11 suspects, with four additional individuals identified as Samson Atukpodo, Steven Ovi, Ugbevo Samson Afok, and Akporobaro Evid Ogunam. Preliminary findings indicate that criminal elements exploited the situation to perpetrate acts of sexual violence.

Edaf emphasized that these acts do not represent legitimate cultural practices of the Ozoro community. The police have reassured the public of their commitment to ensuring security and justice for victims, urging the community, especially victims and witnesses, to provide credible information to assist in the ongoing investigation.
