Police Arrest Four for Vandalizing Seplat Energy Facility

On March 11, 2023, at 12:00 hours, the Akwa Ibom Police Command received a distress call from Seplat Energy regarding a group of youths allegedly vandalizing their facility in Ibeno Local Government Area. The police, led by Timfon John, mobilized to the scene where they discovered that the suspects had already forcefully pulled down and destroyed the company's signpost.

The group, consisting of approximately 25 individuals, violently resisted arrest and attempted to obstruct police operations. However, the police successfully arrested four suspects, while efforts to apprehend the ring leader, who fled, are ongoing.

The police spokesperson condemned the act of vandalism and emphasized that no individual or group has the right to resort to violence or destruction of property. The Akwa Ibom Police Command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and investments and warned that any acts of vandalism or violence would lead to arrest and prosecution.
