Police Arrest 10 Suspected Bandits in Kaduna Operation

The Kaduna State Police Command arrested 10 suspected bandits and recovered eight firearms during an operation across the state. The operation, which was led by the anti-kidnap unit, was prompted by intelligence reports and took place on Mai 1, 2026.

According to a statement issued by DSP Mansir Hassan, the police recovered six locally fabricated firearms, including AK-47 rifles and pistols, which were allegedly intended for criminal elements. The suspects identified include Haruna Dauda, Meshack John, Iliya Dangi, Joshua Maigida, and Audu Musa.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects specialized in the illegal sale of arms and ammunition to bandits operating within the Ikara surrounding communities. They further confessed to supplying weapons to previously arrested suspects, including Timothy Yohana, Ado Mato, and Hamisu Yalwa.

The police investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of the arms supply syndicate and to arrest any accomplices.
