Police Neutralize Suspected Kidnappers in Nasarawa State

On Monday, at approximately 03:30 hours, the Nasarawa State Police Command conducted a routine patrol along the Nasarawa Eggon-Akwanga highway. During this operation, the patrol team discovered an attempted kidnapping incident near a rice mill in Nasarawa Eggon.

The team observed a barricade made of stones set up by unknown armed young men, who were suspected of intending to attack unsuspecting motorists. Upon sighting the police patrol, the hoodlums opened fire, prompting a swift response from the police.

An exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in the police overpowering the suspects, with one suspect neutralized. The remaining suspects fled into the surrounding bush, possibly suffering from gunshot wounds.
