Police Neutralize Kidnappers in Nasarawa State Operation

On Thursday, the Nasarawa State Police Command reported a successful operation against suspected kidnappers in Nasarawa Eggon. Following directives from Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu, police intervened in an attempted kidnapping near a rice mill.

A patrol team discovered a barricade set up by armed young men, suspected of planning to attack unsuspecting motorists. Upon noticing the police, the suspects opened fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire where one suspect was neutralized, while others fled into nearby bushes.

The injured suspect was rushed to a medical facility but was later confirmed dead. The deceased was identified as Auta Habu from the Ruga Fulani settlement in Gidan Waya, Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.

The police are continuing efforts to apprehend the fleeing gang members and have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
