Anambra Police Heighten Security Amid Ruler Stool Dispute

The Anambra Police Command has placed its operations on alert in Awka following a dispute regarding the traditional ruler's stool, which poses a potential threat to public peace and order. Tochukwu Ikenga, the police public relations officer, disclosed that the command has observed concerning patterns of comments related to the inquiry panel's report on the traditional stool.

In response, the command has activated its anti-cult unit and rapid response squad to proactively address potential security concerns. The Commissioner of Police, Mr.

Ikioy Orutugu, has urged stakeholders and the public to exercise restraint and avoid inflammatory statements or actions that could incite unrest. Furthermore, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has charged the police to enforce the findings of the inquiry panel regarding the traditional stool dispute.

This directive was given during a visit by Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu to the government house in Awka, where the panel recently submitted its findings on the rightful person for the traditional stool.
