Police Raid Drug Hub in Akwa Ibom, Arrest 18 Suspects

On Sunday, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, under the leadership of DSP Timfon John, conducted a raid on an illegal drug distribution hub located in Oku Iboko, Mbak Community, within the Itu Local Government Area. This operation resulted in the apprehension of 18 suspects involved in drug syndicates.

The police recovered a significant quantity of illicit substances during the raid, which was identified as a distribution point for narcotics contributing to youth delinquency and violent crime in the area. DSP Timfon John emphasized the ongoing investigation to uncover the full extent of the drug network and urged collaboration from community leaders and residents to provide credible intelligence.

He reaffirmed the police command's commitment to tackling crime in the state and announced plans to intensify intelligence-driven raids to dismantle criminal hideouts, warning that those involved in drug trafficking and related criminal enterprises would face the full wrath of the law.
