Delta Police Seize Weapons, Arrest Cult Members in Delta

The Delta State Police Command conducted operations targeting suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, and cultists, resulting in the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, two pump-action guns, 55 rounds of live ammunition, and seven live cartridges. SP Bright Edafe, the command’s Public Relations Officer, reported that the first operation occurred on October 4, 2026, in Uduere community, Ughelli North LGA, where operatives from the Commissioner of Police Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) engaged in a gunfight with suspects who fled the scene.

In a separate operation on October 5, 2026, the Quick Response Squad arrested three suspected members of the Black Axe confraternity, Uzubu Ufuoma (33), Solomon Ovie (27), and Remember Emuere (31), during a raid on a cult meeting in Kokori community, Ethiope East LGA. The suspects led police to an abandoned building where another pump-action gun was recovered.

CP Samuel E. Erale warned that the command would continue to disrupt criminal activities and bring offenders to justice.
