Delta Police Arrest Two, Seize Firearms and Ammunition

The Delta State Police Command conducted intelligence-led operations resulting in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of two pump-action guns, 18 live cartridges, four daggers, a battle axe, and other dangerous items. The operations were executed by the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) and the Command Anti-Cult Unit (CACU) in Obiaruku and Isupe Community within Ndokwa West Local Government Area.

On September 12, 2026, operatives, acting on credible intelligence, apprehended 36-year-old Joel Iwomi, who resisted their entry into his residence. Upon gaining access, they recovered a pump-action gun and 18 cartridges.

In a separate operation on September 9, 2026, Chukwuka Nzete, also known as “Ododo,” was arrested in Isupe Community for allegedly selling firearms and operating a shrine for criminals. His residence search yielded another pump-action gun, four daggers, a battle axe, and pots with substances suspected to be charms.

Both suspects are in custody as investigations continue.
