Delta Police Arrest 16 Suspects, Recover Stolen Car and Guns
The Delta State Police Command has arrested 16 suspects and recovered two firearms, a stolen Toyota Camry, and quantities of suspected illicit drugs in separate operations across the state. On September 8, eight suspects were apprehended during a raid on a suspected cult gathering in Aragba-Orogun, identified as Godspower Achubue (27), Ziden Edem (27), Kingsley Aniefem (36), Omita John (22), Onumu Happy (22), Kenneth Ukpurakpo (22), Juliet Festus (26), and Oghenegueke Okuanah (22).
A search at one suspect's residence yielded a pump-action gun and a live cartridge. In another operation, Collins Dunkun (30) was arrested for an alleged extortion attempt at a construction site, where he and others demanded N700,000.
A search of Dunkun revealed a locally made pistol. Additionally, five suspects were arrested in Warri for suspected drug activities, and two suspects, Destiny Suleman (41) and Samuel Ejiro (21), were apprehended in Ekpan with a stolen Toyota Camry.
Commissioner of Police, CP Samuel E. Erale, reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards cultism, unlawful possession of firearms, extortion, and drug-related crimes.
