Delta Police Arrest Eight Suspects, Recover Firearms

The Delta State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police Samuel Erale, arrested eight suspects in connection with an attempted murder reported at the command headquarters on September 3, 2026. The arrests were made by the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) during a raid on criminal hideouts in Abraka.

The suspects include Evans Adamda, Mamatime Michael, Wale Morakinyo, Anabono Godspower, Theophilus Philip, Robinson Oghenewiro, and Inoni Ejiroghene. During the operation, police recovered three locally made pistols, Tramadol, and other suspected illicit drugs.

The suspects and the recovered items are currently in custody as investigations continue to ascertain their individual roles in the attempted murder and other criminal activities. Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe reiterated the command's commitment to intelligence-led operations aimed at combating kidnappers, cultists, and other criminal elements in the state, urging public cooperation in providing timely information.
