Oyo Police Arrest Five Armed Robbery Suspects

On June 12, 2026, the Oyo State Police Command announced the arrest of five armed robbery suspects in the Olodo area of Egbeda Local Government Area. The suspects, identified as Ahm Nafiu (43), Olukunmi Olaniyi (36), Femi Odeyind (53), Jelili Akinad (50), and Muhideen Adio (27), were apprehended during an operation based on credible intelligence.

The police recovered several items, including a pump-action gun, a single-barrel cut-size gun, eight live cartridges, a native bulletproof vest, and two bottles of suspected charm-inducing syrup. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat violent crime, including armed robbery and cultism, in the state.
