Oyo Police Foil Armed Robbery, Neutralize Suspect

The Oyo State Police Command successfully foiled an armed robbery attempt along Saki Road in Iseyin, neutralizing one suspect and arresting two others. The operation occurred at approximately 2:00 AM, following credible intelligence regarding the ongoing robbery attack.

DSP Ayanlad Olayinka disclosed that five suspects invaded a residence, reportedly linked to a similar attack in February. Upon arrival, the police and local security guards engaged the armed suspects in a gun duel, resulting in the neutralization of one suspect and the arrest of two others.

The remaining gang members escaped with varying degrees of gunshot injuries. A thorough search of the scene led to the recovery of a locally made short gun, spent cartridges, live cartridges, five mobile handsets, two power banks, and a sum of money.

The neutralized suspect's body was evacuated to the mortuary, while the arrested suspects, identified as Ali Umar and Moham Usman, were taken into police custody for further investigation.
