Jigawa Police Recover Stolen Motorcycles and Cattle
From May 15 to May 22, 2023, the Jigawa State Police Command, in collaboration with local vigilante groups, conducted operations that led to the recovery of four stolen motorcycles, seven cows, and three sheep, as well as 5,886 assorted illicit drugs. Police investigations revealed that the suspects had allegedly stolen the motorcycle from Dabar Lantana in Ningi, Bauchi State. On May 19, police recovered two motorcycles and three sheep in Malam Madori after suspects abandoned the stolen items and fled.
On May 21, Umar Garba (22) and Abubakar Adam (25) were arrested in Kano State for attempting to conceal a stolen motorcycle. Additionally, five suspects were arrested on May 20 for cattle rustling along the Kano-Maiduguri road.
The police also seized illicit drugs and arrested several drug dealers. The Commissioner of Police, Haruna Yahaya, commended the efforts of the police and local vigilante groups in combating crime.
