Lagos Police Deny Kidnap Claims of Late DCP Salihu

The Lagos State Police Command has rejected viral claims regarding the late Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Khan Salihu, asserting that he was not kidnapped before his death. SP Abimbola Adebisi, the police spokesperson, issued a statement on Tuesday clarifying that Salihu had briefly felt unwell and was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention, where he was later confirmed dead by doctors.

Adebisi emphasized that the reports of Salihu's kidnapping were entirely false, misleading, and without any factual basis. She expressed concern over the distress caused to the late officer's family, friends, and colleagues by these unverifiable stories circulating on media platforms.

Adebisi called for the immediate withdrawal of the misleading reports and requested an apology from the media organizations involved, stressing the importance of relying on verified information from official police channels. The police reaffirmed their commitment to combating misinformation and providing accurate information to the public.
