Katsina Police Rescue Four Kidnapped Victims from Bandits

On April 9, 2023, at approximately 8:17 PM, the Katsina State Police successfully rescued four individuals who had been kidnapped after foiling a bandit attack along the Sabuwa-Kaya road, near Unguwar Liman village in the Sabuwa Local Government Area. A large number of armed bandits had blocked the highway to abduct the victims.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) mobilized a tactical team to the scene, where they engaged the bandits in a gun duel, forcing them to retreat into the forest. The victims were identified as Alhaji Sani Kadanya, 50, from Tashar Kadanya village, Basiru Aminu, 27, from Kutaimashi village, Aliyu Musa, 30, from Unguwar Gajer village, Ummi Bello, 20, from Sabuwa Local Government Area, and Abubakar Abdullahi, 35, from Unguwar Gajer village.

All victims were confirmed to be in good condition. Following the operation, security sources cordoned off the area to track down the fleeing suspects.
