Police Rescue Four Abducted Children in Lagos State

On May 8, 2026, the Lagos State Police Command successfully rescued four children who had been abducted from the Ijesha Tedo area. The operation occurred during a routine patrol around Alafia Bus Terminus in the Coker Oril area.

According to a statement from the police public relations officer, Abimbola Adebisi, the children were found in the company of an unidentified woman who was suspected of trafficking. Upon noticing the police patrol team, the woman fled the scene, abandoning the children.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the children had been kidnapped and were allegedly being transported out of the state. The police intervened, foiling the plan, and the children were immediately taken into protective custody.

Adebisi confirmed that efforts are being made to trace the parents of the children and to apprehend the fleeing suspect. The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, commended the alertness of the patrol officers involved in the operation and urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant regarding the safety of their children.
