Police Rescue Three Missing Children in Akwa Ibom

On June 3, 2026, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command conducted an operation that resulted in the rescue of three missing children and the arrest of two suspects identified as Emmanuel Johnni, 39, from Ikot Itokpo village in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, and Ifiok Umoh, 28, from Ikot Ikpen village in Oruk Anam Local Government Area. The operation was initiated after police received a distress call concerning the abduction of the children along Ikot Ekpaw village in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area.

Upon receiving the report, the police quickly mobilized and cordoned off entry and exit routes in the area. A thorough search of a mini bus led to the discovery of the children inside, who were rescued unharmed.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Baba Azar, commended the operation and emphasized the commitment of the police to combat child trafficking and abduction.
