Rivers Police Arrest Four in Major Car Theft Bust

The Rivers State Police Command successfully arrested four suspects involved in a car theft syndicate on April 10, 2026. The operation was part of an ongoing crackdown on organized vehicle theft, driven by intelligence under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu.

The suspects, identified as Paul Nwabuez (46), Jude Male (46), Dike Micheal (46), Uzomba Darlington (47), and Emyinnaya Eugen (age not specified), were apprehended in Ogbogoro Community, Obio Akpor Local Government Area. Nwabuez, who had previously evaded arrest, confessed to his involvement in multiple vehicle thefts.

The police recovered two Toyota Hilux and three Sienna vehicles during the operation. State Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju urged the public to remain vigilant and adopt security measures to protect their vehicles and report any suspicious activities to the police.
