Ondo Police Launch Tactical Team to Combat Kidnapping

In response to increasing security concerns, the Ondo State Police Command has formed a tactical team based in the Ilu Abo community to address the rise in kidnapping and violent crime. The announcement was made on Tuesday by DSP Abayomi Jimoh, with CP Adebowale Lawal visiting the community on March 10 to reassure residents of the command's commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

The newly deployed tactical team consists of specially trained operatives from the command's elite units, including an anti-kidnap squad, and will operate 24 hours daily to conduct intensive patrols and surveillance operations. The police have emphasized a proactive approach to address prevailing security challenges, urging residents to remain calm and report any suspicious activities.

The command is also intensifying joint security operations and intelligence-led raids to dismantle criminal networks. Residents are encouraged to provide credible information, which will be treated confidentially, as the police reaffirm their zero-tolerance policy towards kidnapping and violent crime in Ondo State.
