Two Arrested for Murder of UTME Candidate in Lagos

On April 27, 2026, Police Commissioner Fatai Tijani disclosed that two suspects, Elijah Emmanuel (23) and Toni Ogenata (21), were arrested in connection with the murder of Thompson Adam, a 17-year-old UTME candidate. The suspects, reportedly former schoolmates of Adam, allegedly lured him to a location where he was killed on April 22, 2026.

Following credible intelligence, the police traced the suspects and arrested them around 8:00 PM on Monday. Tijani revealed that the suspects concealed Adam's body in a bag and disposed of it within the community.

The investigation also linked Emmanuel and Ogenata to a previous case involving the abduction and murder of a female victim in November 2025, where a ransom of N300,000 was paid before the victim was killed. The suspects are expected to be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
