Akwa Ibom Police Bust Militant Cell and Illegal Gun Factory, Make Arrests

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has made significant strides in combating crime by smashing a militant cell and an illegal gun factory in Ibaka. The operation led to the arrest of individuals engaged in activities such as arms manufacturing, robbery, and cult-related crimes.

Notable arrests include Samuel Geofrei from Bayelsa involved in sea piracy and the apprehension of suspects Aniekan Aniedi and Ubong Udofia in a raid on a gun production hideout in Ekiti Itam. The police recovered stolen marine equipment, firearms, and other items linked to criminal activities.
