Kaduna Police Deny Sealing ACF Headquarters Amid Tensions

The Kaduna State Police Command clarified that their presence at the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) headquarters was not a seal-off but a preventive measure to avert potential breakdowns of law and order. This statement came amid allegations that the ACF headquarters was sealed off ahead of a scheduled National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, which had sparked tensions within the organization.

In a telephone interview, police spokesperson DSP Mansur Hassan explained that intelligence indicated two different factions within the ACF planned to hold meetings at the same time, creating a potential flashpoint for conflict. To manage the situation and prevent clashes, law enforcement was deployed to the venue.

DSP Hassan stressed that the police could not allow a breakdown of law and order and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace in Kaduna State. He also refuted claims of a seal-off, stating that access to the headquarters remained open to prevent escalation between opposing groups.
