Nasarawa Police Launch Operation Against Kidnappers and Bandits

The Nasarawa State Police Command has initiated a special operation targeting bandits, kidnappers, armed robbers, and other criminals in the state's forests. Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Mohammed, launched the operation on Wednesday in Lafia, following directives from Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu.
The operation aims to enhance security and restore lasting peace in Nasarawa State. Tactical squads, anti-kidnapping units, and intelligence operatives have been deployed to identified flashpoints and forest corridors.
The operation is set to continue until the end of December. The state has been divided into three operational sectors for effective coordination: Sector A (Lafia zone) led by ACP Lamidu Alkali, Sector B (Akwanga zone) headed by ACP Kadir Umar, and Sector C (Keffi zone) led by ACP Olobekga Saligo.
Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Sanusi Jidda, will oversee activities across all sectors. Mohammed urged residents to provide credible information on suspicious activities, assuring confidentiality.
