Police Rescue Two Kidnapped Victims in Niger State

The Niger State Police Command successfully rescued two kidnapped victims from Wako village after engaging in a fierce battle with their abductors in the Wawa forest of Borgu Local Government Area. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, reported that three kidnappers were neutralized during the operation, while others managed to escape with gunshot injuries.
The police had initiated an investigation and mobilized a surveillance team along with local vigilantes to the forest for the rescue mission. Following the confrontation, the two victims were rescued unharmed.
SP Abiodun stated that the victims have been debriefed and that further investigations are ongoing. Additionally, he disclosed the arrest of Mohammed Jamiu at a student hostel in Bida, who was found in possession of 27 suspected fake N1,000 notes, charms, a calabash, and a red cloth.
Jamiu claimed that he sold his motorcycle, and part of the proceeds were used to acquire the counterfeit notes.
