Lagos Police Dismiss School Attack Rumors, Enhance Security

The Lagos State Police Command has issued a statement reassuring residents that there is no verified intelligence indicating an imminent attack on schools in Lagos State, following the circulation of a threatening notice allegedly warning of plans by bandits to abduct schoolchildren. The command, represented by Public Relations Officer Abimbola Adebisi, emphasized that security concerns are treated with utmost seriousness and urged residents to remain calm and avoid panic.

In response to the situation, immediate security assessments have been ordered, and enhanced security measures have been deployed across strategic locations in the state. Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai described the security measures as watertight, aimed at protecting critical infrastructure and preventing potential threats.

The command warned criminal elements against any attempts to disrupt public peace and assured the public that any acts capable of causing fear or insecurity will be dealt with according to the law. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the police.
