Ondo Police Declare State Safe, Dismiss Threat Claims

The Ondo State Police Command, on Tuesday, declared the state secure, refuting claims of security threats that prompted school closure orders in Odigbo Local Government Area. The command responded to reports from the local council chairman, Taiwo Adegoroye, stating there had been no security breaches recorded.

Police spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed that there is no credible information suggesting an imminent threat to public safety in Odigbo. The police urged residents to continue their daily activities without fear, highlighting that the security architecture in the area remains robust.

Additionally, the State Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, directed the area command to maintain heightened surveillance and intelligence gathering, particularly around schools and public facilities. The police reassured the public of their commitment to monitoring developments and responding proactively to any emerging concerns, urging residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies.
