Anambra Police to Fund Treatment for Rescued Child

The Anambra State Police Command announced it will fully fund the medical treatment of the only surviving child among four children rescued from a female native doctor’s residence in Umuoduba Village, Ideani, Idemili South Local Government Area. This announcement was made by the newly-deployed Commissioner of Police in Anambra, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, during a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Awka on Monday.

The incident occurred on August 5, when four children aged 6, 9, 12, and 15 were discovered unconscious; three were pronounced dead despite medical efforts. The surviving child is currently receiving intensive medical care.

CP Ama expressed deep sadness over the incident and assured that the police will cover all medical expenses and monitor the child's recovery. He also committed to investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident with professionalism and pledged to enhance the state’s policing strategies.
