Police To Probe Amnesty International ‘South-East Killing’ Report

The Nigeria Police Force is set to investigate a report by Amnesty International that highlights a pattern of extrajudicial killings and human rights violations in the South-East region. The report, released on Saturday, alleges serious misconduct by security agencies.

In response, the Force Spokesperson, DCP Muyiwa Adejobi, stated that the Inspector-General of Police has emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and operational professionalism. Adejobi revealed that relevant departments and field formations will conduct a thorough assessment of the report, including reviewing internal operational records and intelligence reports from police commands and tactical units in the region.

The police are committed to addressing the allegations and ensuring justice and fairness in their operations.
