Police Hunt Killers of Blasphemy Victim in Niger State

The Niger State police have launched a manhunt for the killers of a food vendor, Amaye, who was lynched over alleged blasphemy. Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred in Igwama after a Muslim food seller had a verbal exchange with a young man.

The young man's joking remark about marriage was misinterpreted as blasphemous, leading to the fatal attack. Despite efforts by security personnel to protect the vendor, the angry mob overpowered them and stoned her to death.

The police have condemned the act as jungle justice and are intensifying efforts to arrest the perpetrators and restore calm in the community.
