Nigerian Police Officers Return in Disguise Amid Bribery Allegations

Nigerian police officers defied a withdrawal directive by returning to duty in disguise, allegedly engaging in bribery and administrative manipulation. The officers reportedly wore uniforms of groups like the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to continue their protection duties undetected.

The directive, believed to be linked to political figures like Bola Tinubu and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, saw officers paying bribes of 500,000 Naira to resume their duties. This development raises concerns about corruption and the effectiveness of security measures in Nigeria.
