Tinubu's Aide Critiques Peter Obi's Political Moves

Bayo Onanuga, a special adviser to President Bola Tinubu, reacted to Peter Obi's recent departure from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), characterizing Obi as a political nomad. Obi announced his exit from the ADC, citing a toxic political climate and internal crises within the Labour Party, which he previously led.

Onanuga dismissed Obi's reasons for leaving, stating they were self-serving and illogical. He emphasized that Obi's decision was not due to personal issues with party leadership, including respect for figures like former Senate President David Mark and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Onanuga criticized Obi's political strategy, suggesting that instead of confronting challenges, he seeks easier paths, which could lead to failure in the upcoming 2023 elections. He urged support for the ADC while welcoming Obi to the 2027 race, indicating that Obi's current political maneuvers lack substance and focus on Nigeria's deeper issues.
