Gov. Yahaya of Gombe State Advocates Modern Husbandry to End Farmer-Herder Clashes

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has highlighted the importance of political will, rule of law, and modern husbandry in resolving farmer-herder conflicts. The state has established a high-level White Paper Implementation Committee to address security challenges, particularly related to farmer-herder clashes and banditry.

The initiative aims to dismantle outdated grazing practices, enhance security, and prevent conflicts, ensuring food security and peaceful coexistence. The Governor noted the perennial conflicts in Northern Nigeria due to competition over land resources, emphasizing the need for sustainable solutions.

The move also aims to modernize animal husbandry practices to reduce insecurity and criminal activities.
