POMR Supports Obi's Call for Tinubu's Resignation

The POMR (Peter Obi Media Reach) defended Peter Obi's recent call for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's resignation, emphasizing concerns over rising poverty and insecurity in Nigeria. In a statement issued on Tuesday, signed by spokesman Idri Zekeri Jnr, POMR accused Tinubu of failing to address substantive issues raised by Obi, instead resorting to insults and self-congratulatory rhetoric.

They argued that leadership should be judged by the outcomes of policies, referencing historical examples of resignations from leaders like former U.S. President Richard Nixon and others.

POMR highlighted that under Tinubu's administration, the number of Nigerians living in poverty has significantly increased, public debt has grown, and living conditions have not improved. They criticized the government's focus on isolated successes while overlooking widespread insecurity, including kidnappings and violent crimes.

POMR urged the federal government to prioritize tackling insecurity, unemployment, and poverty rather than engaging in political point-scoring.
