Portable Apologizes After Walking Out of Boxing Rematch

Street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, issued an apology to the organizers, fans, and supporters after walking out of his celebrity boxing rematch against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha on July 31, 2026. The bout, held at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, ended controversially when Portable refused to continue after the first round, resulting in officials declaring Charles Okocha the winner.

In a statement from his management, Zeh Nation/Dr Zeh, Portable expressed regret and acknowledged the disappointment caused by his decision. He later explained on Instagram that he quit due to Okocha allegedly abandoning boxing techniques for wrestling and biting him during the fight.

Portable claimed he sustained injuries and insisted he had landed more punches before quitting. The rematch followed Portable's victory over Okocha in their first meeting in 2023, and the dramatic ending has led to divided opinions among fans on social media.
