Portable Disqualified in Celebrity Boxing Rematch with Okocha

On Friday night, street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, faced Nollywood actor Charles Okocha in a celebrity boxing rematch titled “Unfinished Business” at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. Portable was disqualified for walking out of the ring before the opening round concluded.

The match was a follow-up to their first encounter, which had sparked controversy when Okocha claimed the judges' decision favoring Portable was unjust. The bout attracted numerous fans and celebrities, eager for a dramatic showdown.

Initially, Portable seemed to dominate the fight, but as tensions escalated, both fighters resorted to grappling, prompting referee interventions. Amid the chaos, Portable unexpectedly exited the ring, leading to boos from the crowd.

Despite attempts by his team to convince him to return, officials ruled his departure as abandonment of the contest, resulting in Okocha being awarded victory. Portable expressed emotional struggles before the fight, hoping for improvement in his life.
