Emir of Potiskum Honors Three with Traditional Titles

The Emir of Potiskum, Yobe State, conferred traditional titles on three sons, recognizing their contributions to the development of Potiskum. Among those honored was Professor Usman Muhammad Dakasku, the former Vice Chancellor of Federal University Gashua, who received the title of Madakin Potiskum.

The ceremony, which adhered to traditional practices, also included the conferment of titles on Hakimi Adamu Abubakar and Bataba Zarma Gana Potiskum. Alhaji Sani Umar Badejo confirmed the appointment of Marusan Potiskum.

The Emir's delegation, led by Sheikh Muhammad Zakariya, presented letters of appointment to the honorees prior to the formal conferment. The Emir emphasized that the titles were conferred based on merit and aimed at preserving the dignity and legacy of the Emirate.

The event showcased the rich royal traditions and cultural heritage of the domain and was attended by dignitaries and well-wishers who commended the Emir for his commitment to cultural preservation and leadership.
