Sanwo-Olu Urges 2026 Hajj Pilgrims to Pray for Nigeria

During a seminar organized by the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board in preparation for the 2026 Hajj, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu urged intending pilgrims to pray for Nigeria's prosperity. He described the Hajj as a spiritual privilege and reminded pilgrims that it is a journey of faith requiring patience, discipline, and total submission to Allah.

Sanwo-Olu specifically encouraged pilgrims to remember Lagos State and Nigeria in their supplications, particularly during the significant moment at Arafah. He called on pilgrims to pray for national leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for wisdom and strength in governance.

The governor also advised pilgrims to uphold discipline, respect Saudi Arabian laws, and avoid political discussions during the pilgrimage. Ibrahim Layod, the representative of the Commission of Home Affairs, disclosed that 1,600 intending pilgrims are expected to participate from Lagos State, with the government committed to enhancing their welfare and comfort during the pilgrimage.
