Arokodare Scores on Debut as Ajax Defeats FC Volendam

Tolu Arokodare made an impressive debut for Ajax, scoring the third goal in a 3-2 victory against FC Volendam during a pre-season friendly on Sunday. Arokodare, who had been named among the substitutes, replaced Marcos Leonardo 19 minutes before the end of the match.

He found the net two minutes from time after a cross from Anton Gaaei created confusion in the FC Volendam defense. The 25-year-old forward recently joined Ajax from Sky Bet Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier in the week.

Ajax has secured an option to make Arokodare's transfer permanent at the conclusion of the season. He aims to make a significant impact at Ajax and secure a starting position for the 2026/27 season.
