Troops Arrest Terrorists, Recover AK-47 in Benue Raid

On March 26, 2026, troops from the COA Intervention Battalion XI executed a successful operation in Agasha, Benue State, as part of their pre-wet season offensive. The operation, termed "Operation Whirl Stroke," aimed to clear criminal hideouts and secure farming communities ahead of the agricultural season.

Acting on credible intelligence, the troops swiftly cordoned off the area, leading to the arrest of three suspects identified as Sule Ibrahim Salmanu and Abdulkareem Haruna, along with another individual from Nasarawa State. During the raid, the troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, two magazines, 27 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a Tecno mobile phone, a cutlass, sachets of alcohol, and assorted charms.

The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing preliminary investigations before being handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution. Major General Mose Gara commended the troops for their professionalism and resilience, urging them to maintain their operational tempo to protect law-abiding citizens.
