Pregnant IDP Found Murdered While Gathering Food

A pregnant internally displaced person (IDP) was discovered dead after she left her camp in Mokwa to gather 'Tafasa' for breakfast. Malam Mohammed Umaru reported that the woman was attacked and stabbed around 8 am on a Sunday while in the bush.

The victim had fled her home in Kwara due to terrorist attacks and was living in an uncompleted building near Dufya Primary School with other IDPs. After she did not return from her outing, a search was initiated, leading to the grim discovery of her body.

It was noted that her stomach was cut open and her baby was removed, raising concerns about the brutality of the act. The spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, did not respond to inquiries regarding the incident at the time of reporting.
