Emeka Ene Appointed Chairman of Premier Paints Plc Board

Premier Paints Plc has undergone a significant board overhaul, appointing Emeka Ene, the CEO of Oida Group and a key executive of its new core investor, Xenergi Limited, as chairman. This restructuring marks a new phase for the paint manufacturer under its new ownership.

Alongside Ene, Adebowale Fagbemi, John Erinne, and Doseke Akporiaye have been appointed as non-executive directors, pending ratification by shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting. The changes come after the retirement of three directors—Adedoyin Adeyinka, M.K.O.

Balogun, and Ajayi Oluyemi—effective August 31, 2026. The board approved these appointments on the same date, as disclosed in a notification signed by Alozie Nwokoro, the company secretary, and filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited.

Emeka Ene's appointment is notable for bringing significant oil and gas experience, having previously served as the chairman of the Exploration and Production Committee of the International Gas Union and held various leadership roles in the energy sector.
