Presidency Disowns Adeniyi Adeyemi as Con Artist

The Presidency, represented by spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, has publicly disowned Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, describing him as a con artist who has constructed a web of false claims to deceive the public. Adeyemi, who claimed to be the Director General of a fictitious entity called the Presidential Economic Advisory Council, was accused of misrepresenting himself and engaging in fraudulent activities.

The Chief of Staff to the President, who initially raised concerns, filed a complaint with the Department of State Services (DSS) on October 17, 2025, prompting an investigation into Adeyemi's actions. The complaint detailed that Adeyemi had been using forged documents to claim legitimacy for his non-existent agency, which purportedly hosted meetings and facilitated visa requests.

As a result, the Federal High Court in Abuja has filed eight counts against Adeyemi and two accomplices, with bail set for July 27. The Presidency urges the public to refrain from believing Adeyemi's claims as he awaits trial.
