National Basketball Combine Offers Hope for Nigerian Youth

The National Basketball Combine, a grassroots basketball development event backed by the presidency, took place in Lagos, gathering 200 young basketball prospects from across Nigeria. The event was organized in partnership with Templar Adrenal and aimed to evaluate and select athletes for an international standard development program.

Hon. Adeyinka Anthony Adeboy, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, described the initiative as a major step toward building the future of Nigerian sports at the grassroots level.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration is committed to empowering youth through sports development. The event also received praise from parents and guardians, who recognized it as a platform for exposing young talents to greater opportunities.

Fourteen outstanding athletes will be selected for the first phase of Templar Adrenal's high-performance development program, which will provide elite training and mentorship. This initiative is part of a ten-year development agreement aimed at creating sustainable opportunities for grassroots athletes across multiple sports in Nigeria.
