Nigerian PDP Chieftain Criticizes Presidency as Haven for Old Politicians, Calls for Youth Leadership

A chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Sowunmi, has raised concerns about the Nigerian presidency becoming a sanctuary for aging politicians rather than a hub of vibrant leadership. During the inauguration of the Nation Youth Alliance (NYA) state chairmen in Abuja, Sowunmi, a former spokesperson for ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, emphasized the need for a new generation of leaders in Nigeria.

Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, a former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, echoed similar sentiments, stressing the importance of trust and integration for effective leadership.

Emin Emmanuel Alogbo, the Supreme Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church, urged for progress and peaceful elections in 2027, emphasizing the need for politicians to shun violence and bitterness. The church leader also highlighted the rising insecurity in Nigeria, citing the abduction of 156 church members in Kaduna State.

Alogbo called for swift action to secure their release and protect citizens from further harm.
