Presidency Critiques ADC's Digital Membership Registration

The presidency, represented by O Tega Ogra, a senior special assistant on digital media to President Bola Tinubu, has condemned the newly launched online membership registration platform by the ADC. This platform was announced as part of the party's efforts to comply with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ogra raised concerns regarding the credibility of the data verification process and questioned whether the ADC had established adequate mechanisms for verifying the identities of registrants. He accused the opposition party of making technical errors in rolling out the platform without proper safeguards.

Additionally, Ogra noted that the ADC's claims of massive registration figures are attracting public scrutiny. He emphasized the importance of a credible system for civic participation and warned that public confidence in political parties depends on adherence to basic technical administrative standards.
