Shettima Critiques ADC's Flawed Membership Registration

On March 1, 2023, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) commenced its online membership registration nationwide in compliance with the amended Electoral Act, instructing existing members to update their details. However, the process faced significant criticism from Vice President Kashim Shettima, who accused the ADC of having numerous incorrect details, including fake names and mismatched national identification numbers.

Shettima's statements came during an interfaith breakfast attended by President Bola Tinubu, where he claimed that the ADC's registration portal was overwhelmed with fictitious entries. He further accused the opposition of spreading misinformation about the Tinubu administration's policies.

Shettima, a former governor of Borno State, urged political officeholders to defend the current administration's achievements as the next electoral cycle approaches, asserting that the ADC's flawed registration process undermines the integrity of the electoral system.
