Tinubu Celebrates Launch of Lebara Nigeria for Digital Growth

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu praised the official launch of Lebara Nigeria as a significant boost to the nation's digital economy. In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Saturday, Tinubu noted that the launch reflects growing investor confidence in Nigeria's telecommunications sector and highlights the country's potential to become a technology hub in Africa.

He congratulated Lebara Nigeria's leadership, including CEO Mr. Teniola Stuffman, for their role in expanding telecom access, creating jobs, and strengthening digital infrastructure.

The President emphasized the importance of investment in deepening financial inclusion and enabling innovation to accelerate economic growth. He acknowledged that Nigeria's telecommunications sector grew by 5.78% year-on-year in Q3 2025, contributing 14% to the nation's GDP.

British Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Johni Baxter noted that the collaboration reflects strong economic ties between Nigeria and the UK.
