Tinubu Appoints Fani-Kayode as Nigeria's Envoy to South Africa

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially approved the redeployment of Femi Fani-Kayode from his position in Germany to serve as Nigeria's Ambassador-designate to South Africa. Fani-Kayode disclosed this information via a post on social media, indicating that he had previously expressed discomfort with his role in Germany for personal reasons and had requested the South Africa post, which he has long admired.

The request was considered and subsequently approved by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, before being forwarded to President Tinubu for final approval. Fani-Kayode noted that South Africa's strong economic position on the African continent and its proximity to Nigeria were significant factors in his preference for the new role.

He also dismissed reports claiming that Germany had rejected his appointment, labeling them as false and malicious. Fani-Kayode expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and the Minister of Foreign Affairs for their support in the redeployment process.
