Tinubu Extends Raw Shea Nuts Export Ban to 2027

President Bola Tinubu has approved a one-year extension of the ban on the export of raw shea nuts, which will now take effect until February 25, 2027. This decision was disclosed in an official statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by the President's spokesman, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.

The extension is part of the federal government's strategy to strengthen domestic value addition within Nigeria's shea industry, aiming to increase export earnings from processed products. The policy is designed to stimulate local manufacturing, create jobs, and improve income across shea-producing communities.

This move reflects the government's commitment to transforming Nigeria's agricultural commodities into higher-value export products. The policy also aims to promote inclusive economic growth and strengthen local manufacturing capacity.
